How to Support a PMC Unpaved Rider Through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are very effective charitable giving vehicles whereby donors set aside money to be granted to charitable organizations.

Donate directly on our website from your DAF in just three clicks using DAFpay! Most DAF providers, including Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, and many others, participate in DAFpay.

Search for a rider or team at donate.pmc.org or select DAFpay on a rider or team’s PMC Unpave Profile Page to initiate your grant.

How to use DAFpay: After you find the rider or team you want to donate to, click on the DAFpay button, search for your DAF entity, and then log into your DAF entity and complete your donation.

Other DAFs

When processing a DAF grant through a charitable giving account, search for the Pan-Mass Challenge by tax ID (04-2746912). Include the rider's name or PMC Unpaved ID with the grant request.

PMC Unpaved typically receives DAF grant checks within two weeks and credits a rider’s fundraising immediately upon receipt.

DAF FAQs

A DAF (donor advised fund) is a tax-incentivized charitable giving accounts. Donors contribute cash or financial assets, invest those funds, and can only use these funds to donate to charities. DAFs are the fastest growing way to give; there are $230 billion in DAFs ready to be donated.

DAFpay™ makes it possible for donors to support PMC Unpaved riders with donations from their Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) right from the PMC Unpaved website in just three clicks.

Once your donor is on your PMC Unpaved Profile Page or your Donate Page, they make their donor advised fund (DAF) donation with three clicks:

Click on the DAFpay button
Search for their DAF provider
Log into their DAF to complete their donation

When your donor gives using the DAFpay button and their DAF provider is integrated with DAFpay, you will see their donation on your PMC Unpaved Dashboard as pending. Most DAF providers, including Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable and many others, are fully integrated with DAFpay.

If your donor has their account with a DAF provider that is not fully integrated with DAFpay, they can still use the DAFpay button, but the process will be finalized on their DAF provider’s website. The PMC will not know if this donation is completed until payment is received from the DAF provider. These donations will appear on your PMC Unpaved Dashboard when the payment is received.

The donation will post to your fundraising total when the PMC receives the payment from the DAF provider. If the DAF provider pays electronically, this will take about three business days. If they pay by check, it typically takes two to three weeks.

If your donor initiates their DAF donation from their DAF provider website, ask them to search for the PMC by tax ID (04-2746912) and include your name and PMC ID with the grant request, usually in the designation field. The PMC will not know of this donation until payment is received from the DAF provider. At that point, you will see the donation and it will be added to your fundraising total.
